The Healthier Recipes was founded in 2019 by Salsa Widnarty, a busy mom looking for ways to feed her family nutritious and delicious home-cooked meals. After struggling with her own health and weight loss, Salsa set out on a journey to learn everything she could about healthy cooking. She experimented with substituting fresh ingredients for processed foods, lowering sugar and sodium, and creating recipes packed with nutrients her family needed. The results were so tasty that Salsa decided to share her recipes online to help others learn the joy of healthy home cooking.

When she’s not in the kitchen, Salsa loves staying active outdoors, practicing yoga, and spending time with her husband and two kids. She draws inspiration from her garden, local farmers markets, and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
